Apart from corn-based starch, the cassava starch is extensively utilized in wide range of applications such as pharmaceuticals, adhesives, building materials, paper, textiles, confectionery, and food and beverages.

Unique Strengthening and Emulsification Ability to Increase Demand
Based on product, the modified starch can be categorized into pre-gelatinized, cationic, resistant, and starch esters and ethers.

The starch esters and ethers estimated for the largest share in terms of volume in 2016. Increasing utilization in convenience foods, dairy, bakery, and meat due to their better texture is likely to boost their demand over the forecast period. Growth in pharmaceuticals and food and beverages sector in China and India is likely to drive the segment growth.

On other hand, the cationic starches are projected to rise at 4.6% CAGR during 2017 to 2025. It’s emulsification of sizing agents and dry strength is expected to boost its demand. The product has huge demand in the manufacturing of paper and expected to increase its demand over the forecast period due to its retention and drainage properties.
